Take Your Next Step with THRIVE

THRIVE is a dynamic, structured programme for 11–19‑year‑olds who are ready for a greater focus on personal development, lifestyle management, and accredited qualifications. Building on the foundation of EmpowerU, THRIVE equips young people with the confidence, skills, and vocational readiness needed for long‑term success.

Safe Space & Small-Group Learning for SEND Learners

At THRIVE, every learner benefits from a safe and supportive environment tailored to their unique needs. We maintain small groups with a maximum of 6 learners and a 3:1 learner‑to‑staff ratio, ensuring individualised support and meaningful engagement with learning.

Highly Qualified Staff in Education and Sport

Our experienced team comprises highly qualified educators and sports mentors who understand the needs of SEND learners and provide mentorship in both academic and lifestyle development. This integrated approach supports learners in becoming more resilient, confident, and future‑focused.

Accredited Personal Development & Lifestyle Qualifications

THRIVE features nationally recognised qualifications — including YMCA accredited Personal Development and Lifestyle qualifications — embedded in the timetable and delivered by expert mentors. These certifications help learners build real‑world skills and enhance career readiness while boosting confidence and motivation.

Enhanced Curriculum — Academic & Practical Skills

In addition to the core programme, THRIVE offers:

  • Tailored English and maths support, developing skills essential for work and further education.

  • Digital skills development to prepare learners for modern workplace demands.

  • PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) to nurture emotional wellbeing.

  • Sports, physical activity, and lifestyle coaching, leveraging our excellent outdoor facilities to support physical health alongside personal growth.

Indoor & Outdoor Activities That Inspire

All our THRIVE sites feature fantastic outdoor sports facilities and a variety of stimulating indoor activities. This balance supports holistic development — physical, social, and emotional — helping learners re‑engage and enjoy their educational journey.
